Cragar® unveils new styles for Modern Muscle car enthusiasts

Iconic brand refreshes 50 year old look and feel with a modern flair

Franklin, TN - August 18, 2016 - The Carlstar Group today announced the release of three new styled wheel designs for its Cragar® brand. These new styles are built for American muscle and advance the classic Cragar wheel and its fifty-year-old history into the Modern Muscle market.

"We are excited to reveal Cragar's three new designs and fitments for the Modern Muscle car enthusiast," said Laren Harmon, Executive Vice President of Sales at The Carlstar Group. "The newer model car owners will now be able to enjoy the Cragar style and performance that the hot rod and vintage classic cars have enjoyed for 50 years."

The three new styles, 614, 615 and 620, come in sizes ranging from 18x8 to 22x9 and are available in four different finishes. Cragar is targeting the 2005 – 2016 model cars with these new styles.

The 614 Cragar S/S design honors the classic look that has defined this iconic brand in the automotive aftermarket. The 615 and 620 styles offer a contemporary design with machined accents and machined aluminum face. All three styles will be available in dealerships in September 2016.

“Our Cragar enthusiasts have kept our brand at the forefront of the styled wheel market,” said Harmon. “While we are expanding our offerings with Cragar Modern Muscle we are also continuing to celebrate the brand that enthusiasts know and love.”

Along with the modern wheel designs comes an upgrade to the Cragar brand itself.

“We set out to establish a clear, consistent and unique visual identity for the Cragar brand while remaining true to the rich legacy built by our loyal Cragar fans,” said John Salvatore, Chief Executive Officer at The Carlstar Group. “We’ve now infused the iconic shape with dynamic and forward-looking elements that pay tribute to the past 50 years while preparing us for the next 50.”

Cragar owes a great deal of its legacy to the prominent craftsman, Roy Richter. Over 50 years ago, he introduced the Super Sport (S/S) Wheel, originally created as a racing wheel, driving much of its popularity to high quality performance and speed support. This custom built wheel led to the ultra-strong, ultra-cool and iconic appearance that Cragar is still recognized for today.

Whether manufactured in the 1960’s or 2016, Cragar’s wheels are built around passion, personality, and prestige leading to today’s introduction of Cragar Modern Muscle designs.
